Is there a way you could make zerglings be able to evolve into Ultralisks similar to how Hydras evolve to lurkers?

None.

Yes. In Firegraft, copy one of the Mutalisk's morph buttons, paste it onto the Zergling's button set, and change the action variable to Ultralisk. Keep in mind that if a player morphs the ling then cancels the morph, they'll get a Mutalisk...

but there's no way to make them get a zergling back if they cancel?

Not that I know of. Unless... How many morphing units do you have in total, and what are they?

None.

currently i just have the default morphing units...

Anyway I had to make a new button set because there was no zergling one (it uses Basic Burrower) so i based it off that and added in Lurker Aspect, changed the icon and Action Variable to Ultralisk. It doesn't matter what the action or requirement strings are, right? Anyway, I made Lurker aspect not require it to be researched then i changed the zergling to make it use the new zergling button set, and then ran the game with my changes, and the button showed up, but when i click, it does nothing.

You need to edit the DAT Requirements. I know you'll need to edit Orders, and maybe the Lurker and/or Ultralisk requirements.

None.

what order would I need to edit?

None.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
