Tank Turret positioning

I'm trying to reposition the tankt.grp so that it sits in the right spot on the tank.grp but I can't seem to figure it out. I tried changing the x y coordinates in the iscript but it doesnt seem to relocate it at all. I did like -20 for x and it didn't even move as far as I can tell. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to edit something other than the tank iscript to move it? Or is it just hardcoded?

Or you can go to images.dat and change special overlays placement to the one for dropships.
Maybe someone could explain to me how to do that?

Anyways, thanks for any/all help :)

Did you changed any of the GRP's? If so, you must to edit the .LO? file (tank.lol if I remember well), with the LOEdit program. It is useless to change the offsets with the imgol x y iscript opcode, that only will move the turret in one of the xy coordinates, making the turret immobile when the tank base turns.

that is done with DatEdit, go to the Images.dat Tab and modify the tabs there appear. But, in this case, that is another alternative.

Don't mess withe the iscript in this case, just play toggling offset in the LO? file I mentioned. You must to intoduce the sentence "imgoluselo" to do it.

imgoluselo 251 2 0 # SiegeTankTankTurret (terran\tankt.grp)

There it is. From here you may change the offset if you want.

btw, that line that spawns the turret is only for when displaying it in StarEdit, not in the game. Turrets aren't spawned through iscript.bin. That's why changing the iscript doesn't affect the position of it.

Also, if you have the latest version of IceCC that I've put up so far, that animation would be labeled something like StarEditInit. I had it mislabeled previously, since I hadn't actually tested it. As far as poiuy_qwert's PyICE program, I don't really know whether it has that label or the old one, but I think it does have my updated label for it.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
