so my computer has been acting really strange lately. if u remeber, my mouse was all jacked up before (i posted a topic about it for help)

but now my computer wont stay on for more than about 20 minutes. It started out one day that it just wouldnt boot up, but then i started it in safe mode and checked everything, and then the computer could boot up normally. but it still wont stay on for any length of time. i updated all my virus protection and spyware software and im scanning my computer a lot but it wont stay on long enough to complete the scan.

Im thinking that its a power supply problem, for i have had a problem with it before, however a few tech guys i talked to think that its some kindda virus.

if anyone is good with this stuff, i would really appericate your help

None.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Maybe overheating problem? Check temperatures right after shutdown in your BIOS (press del or F2 when the comp counts its memory).

If it's power supply disconnect you graphics adapter and use the onboard one. If the comp stays on then it's probably your power supply.

Processor could be overheating. It will shutdown if it gets to hot. Check your fans.

Oh_Man -- No APM in chess. Computer just outthinks the human by seeing more moves ahead and more permutations

Oh_Man -- U reckon? Kasparov waa defeated by computer decades ago

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
