Does anyone know coaxial cable / signals well enough to tell me if something like http://www.amazon.com/Bi-Directional-Amplifier-Splitter-Booster-Passive/dp/B000WDR94U would help or hinder internet broadband?
I need to split coaxial 4 ways and interference is a problem for a tv atm. I'm mostly worried about the noise something like this would introduce. Is that something minor for the internets?

None.

I have one. It didn't hurt my internet connection at all, but it's only connected to the TV atm. If you need one, you should call your cable company and complain more instead of getting one. It [i|is[/i| their fault your connectivity is bad.

I think it's more of the choice of cables used by the tv system and the splitting and the mesh of wires in the area. It uses coaxial, split twice, to cable box, coaxial to dvd, and then coaxial to tv. I'm not sure what jacks the tv has (it's older), but I'll upgrade it to whatever I can, at best, s video.
I have a love for wires/cables, and plan on getting high precision coaxial for the start of this little network and for the cables going into my room. Everyone else might get slightly better than basic cables. My only desire for the amp is to counter the dB loss in splitting the wire multiple times, not so much for the actual amplification.

Yep. Just make sure you get ok/good splitters (they have a number of dB on them, closer to 0 is better) and put the amp right at the beginning.

I bet your main problem lies within them splitting your signal.........Twice.
