A Strange Problem

I bought a new computer sometime on February. It's got the works! (Unfortunately I don't have any details to give you as the papers are back home and I'm a long way from home right now)

But I have had this problem for some time.
Whenever I start playing a computer game at some point (5-10 minutes after I have started) the computer will suddenly crash, the screen goes blank and it won't react to anything, unless I press the reset button. Most of the games I have played are downloaded from torrent and it has also crashed on at least one authentic game, but the craziest thing is that it will play some games without ever crashing, both torrent and authentic (Bioshock for example). Although the previous games don't bother me that much I'm afraid it's going to have the same problem when StarCraft 2 comes out!!!! :fear:

I have asked my friends, they don't know and they think it's the games' fault (all of them though?).
Do you guys maybe know? Has this happened to you before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello

Waitwait...
Your screen gets dark and the monitor sets to "standby"?
doesn't also your keyboard and mouse react?

I had that problem, too...
there was a cable elicitod (I searched the word up in dict.de [so I don't know if it's right] whatever: the cable isn't correctly in his "slot" where it should be)

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

That's exactly it! It goes on stand-by and nothing reacts and I have to reset the whole thing again. So you think that the cable is in a wrong slot?

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oh_Man shouted: NudeRaider did u watch the entire video? it's not one game. it's currently dominating the ladder at number 1 position. do ur research first!
Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
