Sorry dude but I gotta disagree with you on this one. That looks like something you would find in World of Warcraft rather than Starcraft.

I know the wallpapers/artworks looks crap of them, but ingame they don't look that bad

My favorite unit from SC is Ghost, but it sucks in SC2, IMO. For SC2, I'd have to go with the Viking, because I like the concept of being both air and ground unit.

The Dark Templar by far. I also like the Guardian from the original StarCraft and I know they have included him in SC2 as the Swarm Guardian but I don't know what's new about him. Does he still have his extremelly long range?

They added a snipe ability, (I think) an attack that does 40 extra damage to energy-based units, made it useful in combat, gave it EMP, removed lockdown, moved it earlier in tier, and made nukes useful (double the damage, earlier tier). I think we can see this used, competitively now.

@Insane Crusader: Yes, it still has long range, but now spawns Broodlings either with every attack (no, doesn't insta-kill), or when it kills something.

My favourite unit is probably the Magic Reaver (Nullifier :P). Though it's attack looks a little odd, a tier 1 caster that can make walls is quite useful.

Thammer is pretty much unoriginal when it comes to StarCraft. I assume the Infestor is his second StarCraft picture, since we've all seen the Tauren Marine (Not by Thammer) long before April 1st, 2008.

I now love the Guardian even more! :uberw00t: :uberw00t: :uberw00t:

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
