I'm having problems doing this. I've tried everything I can think of, but it just won't work.
I've had no problems having a Mutalisk morph in to Kukiulza, the Hero Mutalisk.

So if anyone could tell me how to do this, it would be appreciated.

First, you need to be more specific about what you have already done.

Hello

I had the same problem when I was planning about morphing a zergling into a baneling (devouring one)
it's just because you have to configure (some how...) the lurker egg.... and dat-requirements of course....
btw: I never got it with my baneling test....

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

You could just switch all the Hunter Killer and Lurker stats.

she/her

Method 1:
Code
(In FireGraft):

EXE Edits > Units > Create Unit > Unit Morph [Click me.]

"Command - Unit Check (Lurker)": is by default, the unit Lurker. Change to "Hunter Killer."
"Command - Tech Check (Lurker)": is by default, the upgrade/technology Lurker Aspect. I suggest keeping it that way, but instead use the program TBL Pad to edit some strings for the Lurker Aspect tech and the "Morph to Lurker" string.

Method 2:
Code
(With FireGraft and DatEdt; simpler method)

Simply copy/paste the button set of the Hunter Killer to the Lurker, with FG.
With DatEdit, copy the Hunter Killer and paste over the Lurker.

(You still need to edit strings with TBL Pad.)

Thanks for all the replies.

I decided to just make a sub-menu for the larva and stick the Hunter Killer there, along with the Defiler, since I had to replace his button with the 'Next' button for the sub-menu.

New Hydralisk, I did try your method though, and the first one caused a crash when I upgraded my Hatchery to a Lair.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[04:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
