The bare essentials of website creation is XHTML, CSS, and a tiny dose of java script. Flash is for all the nice and shiny uber fantastical professional sites.

Actually, it does not

Java is a programming language made by Sun Microsystems, Javascript is a webcoding language, while Java programs can be embedded in websites, they are two different things.
