ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

-Tune your guitar, please.
-When you do acoustic songs don't think that you're playing Electric guitar. Acoustic songs are VERY different than whatever random sound you're doing there. You're thinking of the song with distortion when you play the lower strings and the riff on e and the muting. This is why I complain of all those crappy bands releasing "acoustic" versions of their songs that is just the same stupid retarded electric guitar but played on an acoustic one that is NOT acoustic.
- I recommend using nylon strings on acoustic guitar right now for you. Honesly you suck with steel strings on that and your notes sound poor, power-lacking, muted and cut. Just like at the very end of the song.
- Read more about music, chords, scales, hamonic theories and stuff. You killed music in like many ways with your song.

fuck you all

I liked the beginning. Then it got boring. I couldn't finish it. Some decent riffs... you messed up a lot though. Idk... nothing special. Not sure what advice to give other than keep trying. And you're not very good at singing while you play.

None.

-yes it is. Don't force me to start playing your crappy song by myself and tab it and then show what I mean. I have no time for that.

I guess that if you're not open minded to what I say and just refused without taking the adviced you should not ask people for opinions then.

It's tuned, i just have a shitty acoustic.

I play well.

And i like opinions, but not when you're rude about it.

Needs moar dynamic contrast in the vocals. You pretty much keep it at mezzo forte the whole time, or at least where I got to.

Got a nice Jeffrey Lewis sound, but without the awesome lyrics.

The sword and the faith

You are asking for opinions, and then ignoring anything you don't want to hear. Corbo gave you some fine suggestions, and if you had taken them or at least acknowledged he was right I would've let this topic be. I think he should've also added that your lyrics need some serious work.

Every time you post here you fail epicly, because you ignore everyone's attempts to try and help you improve. Don't post here if you can't use it properly. No one wants to come in here and be ignored when they have the decency to try and help make your music better. In fact, it'd be nice to see you at least be appreciative that there's a place for you to do so.

Relatively ancient and inactive

I don't play a guitar of any sort and know little musical theory, so I'll just make my response simple: Too boring. A boring beginning, and I lost interest in... a few seconds. Spice it up somehow. Throw in an accordion :P.

None.

Sep 22 2008, 9:31 pm MadZombie Post #13

Or, dont take it the wrong way, but what you could do is call your self indie and record everything you make in low quality.

Accordion cent? Cereal? i think drums or even some brass. SKA IT UP BRAH.

Accordions are epic. Orchestra-in-an-instrument. A well-played accordion > a well-played anything else. So, CEREAL.

Drums or brass? Pshaw. Way to be boring, normal and mainstream. A balalalaika will have everyone saying 'wtf is that'. As will an accordion, of course.

I would totally play ska music if i was good at the reggae/ska strumming pattern.

1st, 2nd, and 4th are totally wrong. He is so not out of tune. Gawsh. And 3rd I don't know about because I don't play guitar.

It's a nice song, but it's frankly pretty boring. Not to discourage you or anything, the more you compose, the more you'll get better, right?

You need some horns for ska. And your voice would ruin the entire genre.
It also got incredably shitty at the end.

And cut your hair.

Not to mention it's a demo so theres so much more that could be done too it, especially if i had my other 2 guitarists with me.

Sep 25 2008, 10:45 pm Madroc Post #20

Yeah, you're right, that would surely help, sorry.

I think what I'm looking for is more variation in the voice, like in that first section you're just singing on one note (most of the time)? It doesn't really draw any feeling from me with the chords you have in there. And you're in a pretty low register, which sounds like it's blending in with the guitar's low register, it doesn't hold my attention, ya know?

Don't get me wrong, I like it and it's certainly performable.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
