So bascially I never lagged.

And then I got a new computer.

And then I had to reinstall the OS.

And now I lag.

I re-installed StarCraft and Brood War, patched to 1.15.3, told the windows firewall thingy to unblock StarCraft so it could communicate with the intertubes, and it seems that I still lag like a hobo.

The only other lead I have are rumors of some mythical 'port forwarding' technique that apparently makes people not lag.

help/elaborate? I'm finally getting back into StarCraft (not that anyone noticed I was gone, haha), but I can't exactly do that if I can't actually play an games without choking them to horrible death.

Port foward opens the ports from your computer to starcraft so that whenever you host a game, it won't lag (ex: high latency, can't join). However something is wrong whenever I port starcraft (and not others) and port overlap has occured. Sadly, there is no solution to that.

:-(

i also had problem like this...
what i've done:
opend port 6112 and closed all firewalls [dont worry, i use antivir and check for virus every day]

i just lagg with some peoples, because of a "ip-crash / router conflikt"
this is not fixable till you get a new IP.
hope this helps

If you're playing with someone else on your router, let someone that isnt you or your buddy host.

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oh_Man shouted: NudeRaider did u watch the entire video? it's not one game. it's currently dominating the ladder at number 1 position. do ur research first!
Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NudeRaider -- NimoStar
NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
