Here is a map I am currently working on

Counter-Strike 1.6

I am attempting to make it like the real Counter-Strike, but with only sniper units.

Since.. for people like me who Snipe, it would be way too easy to kill a Marine with a sniper.

Although, I have thought about making a Knife ( Zealot ).
Because, if 2 Ghosts get rushed by two Zealots
The chances are, the Zealots could win if they where hiding behind a wall or something.

Anyways, as the terrorist; You must plant, and blow either Bombsite A, or B.
A is located in the Top-Left corner, whereas B is located in the Bottom-Right.

Terrorist can win by either bombing one of two bombsites or eliminating the opposing force.

Counter-Terrorist can win by either defusing a planted bomb or eliminating the opposing force.

Each team can use Flashbangs and Grenades once per round.

A Flashbang will cut off your vision for about 2 seconds, if you step into the location it was used
before the alloted time runs out.

A Grenade will explode you if you step into the location it was used in before the alloted time is up.

There are two time selections at the start; 16 Minute game or 32 minute game.

A 16 minute game will have 5 rounds of 4 minutes.
Whereas a 32 will have 10 rounds of 4 minutes.

Before a new round starts, 2 out of 4 of the team mates must "Ready up" before the round can start.
To ensure people hotkey their Flashbangs/Grenades. But there is also a 60 second timer to ready-up.

This map is near completion, all it needs is the bombing triggers :P

Anyways, what do you guys think?

( Ideas on the units would be appreciated too :D )

I really think SC and FPS simply do not mix. Even maps like Snipers Bald Lock are far from the FPS feel, but they are as close as you can get. If people wanted to play CS, SC simply can't do a good enough job to emulate it. Maps like Halo Blood Gulch instead go for the weapon/vehicles feature rather than elaborate on the FPS feel. So if I'm playing a CS map on SC, I'd expect frag and flashbang grenades, but I just don't think they can be implemented realistically enough for me.

You can't call the map "Counter Strike" without the general array of awesome weaponry from 1.6. I demand Dual Elites.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
