iPod Dead!

So my computer is pretty crappy, sometimes randomly it just becomes very laggy.

One time I plugged in my iPod to my computer to put songs on there, but the iPod wouldn't show on iTunes at all. I assumed this was because my computer was being its usual laggy self. So on the bottom right I clicked the "remove hardware" button and did it, but after like :30 the remove hardware button wouldn't go away like it should. So I was stupid and just assumed OK it's done and I'm frustrated, I'm pulling it out. Then the next day I plug it back in and it says that it's corrupted. Crap. So it gives me the option to reinstall the software on the iPod, so I click the button. Then I wait all night for it to happen, but I guess my mom unplugged it while that was going on, as it was progressing like a snail and everything was so slow while it was installing, so she just unplugged the ipod. Now when I plug it in, it says "Battery Power Crucial" or something like that no matter how long I plug it in. Also there is a confused cartoon of an iPod on the screen of the ipod. This Cartoon flashes every 30 seconds or so.

What can I do to fix my iPod? What is wrong with my iPod? I know almost nothing about iPods. Please help!

Reformat it using windows, plug in, My Computer > Ipod > Right Click > Format

That'll delete all the data off your ipod, just plug it back into your computer and iTunes will reinstall all the software and resync all your data.

So sorry you can't enjoy the magic of rockbox. Take it into an apple store, they come with a 1 year warranty.

Nah, my brother dropped his onto a tile floor, and took it to some random store in California. I think they have a database of these things. Also, don't tell them you dropped it if you did, since that's what my brother did, and the guy was nice enough to say "I'll just pretend I didn't hear that".

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
