ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

I don't want to search for it.

Is there a good blend for rear temple->cliff? Ya know, I wanna get rid of the grassy part. I recall seeing something like this, but it's really hard to find these sorts of things, and the only thing I found used 40 sprites, and sprites won't work well with what I'm doing.

I'm almost 100% sure my hall of fame entry has something like this.

EDIT

It's called dirt temple.

None.

I think his goal is to eliminate the grassy part on the back side?

Best i got:

This shows a few options you have for the cliff side to match the temple back. I personally like the boulder looking pieces, but they all look ok-ish.

Unfortunately, I thought it was easier than it really was. I've got long sections of extended isom terrain. Jabok's works the best, though I may be able to use something from Jello.

There's only one section I don't really like, and that's the right side, where the cliff meets the temple vertically.

Ya that is a problem site, but the biggest thing that bothers me is where the temple just drops off and theres like grass-->temple-->grass-->temple etc. it looks goofy. The rest looks nice. Also, your cliffs don't exactly match. That could be fixed easily and it would look much better. :)

That's unavoidable. There really is no temple blending for that. In general, temple sucks for blending. Here's the alternative...
And my cliffs ARE off... good eye. After staring at the same thing over and over again, it blends on its own sometimes. I'll put in some variation later.

You fixed what I was talking about with the grass and temple, but i understand what you're saying about how you have to use the same piece over and over again and it's fairly blocky. On the right there is the part that goes cliff-->rock piece-->cliff-->highdirt-->cliff, and then two squares to the right it drops down a level and doesn't match up... anyway to fix it?

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
