The Port Forwarding Thread

Note This Is For The Belkin Routers I Am Not Sure If Its The Same For Other Router Types

Step 1. Go To Start

Step 2. Click Run

Step 3. Type "cmd"

Step 4. When The Command Screen Comes Up Type "ipconfig"

Step 5. Scroll Up To Ip Address And Write It Down Next To It There Should Be Numbers Like
192.168. And Then Two More Numbers

Step 6. Below It Should Be Default Gateway Next To It There Should Be Numbers Like
192.168. And Then Two More Numbers

Step 7. Type Those Numbers In The Address Bar Like This Http://192.168.2.1/ ( Just An Example)

Step 8. When You Get To A Screen Click Login Near The Top.

Step 9. Just Leave It Blank And Click Submit.

Step 10. Now On The Left Hand Side Under The FireWall Tab Click Virtual Servers

Step 11. Choose The Game Starcraft.

Step 12. In The Inbound Port Boxes Put 6112 - 6119

Step 13. Choose Type TCP

Step 14. In The Private Ip Address Box Put Your Ip Address That You Wrote Before

Step 15. In The Private Port Boxes Put 6112 - 6119

Step 16. Click The Enable Box

Step 17.Repeat Steps 11 Through 16 Again But For Step 13 Change TCP To UDP

I think www.portforward.com is a much more practical solution for finding out how to forward your ports rather than devoting a whole thread to it.

Ya But My Way Takes Less Than 5 Minutes To Do.

The methods on portforward.com take just as much time and lower, also the site covers a huge array of routers. All you need to do is just take the time to place a few clicks and follow the directions.

I know how to port forward. I recently tried to host a game on SC and forgot that I had reset my router a while ago. So when I couldn't host I eventually realized I forgot to forward my ports. It only took me a min or two to forward the ports on my router and then I was hosting a game :)

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
