Blue Screen of Death. I have an Alienware Aurora Laptop.
Any Computer geeks out there who can help me out?
The BSoD comes on randomly, and i cant get a single straight game in.

I know this is either a hardware issue/ something wrong with the OS.
This is not a virus, nor is it malware, spyware, warioware, or whatever ware.

How do i diagnose this puppy?

What does the BSoD say? If your computer automatically reboots the second it appears,
1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
2. Go to Advanced
3. Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
4. Under System Failure un-check "Automatically restart"

Reformatting is usually the best way to check if it's a hardware/software issue. If reformatting fails, then it's hardware, and you'll to get it fixed through manufacturer. Otherwise, the reformat should have solved the issue. If you don't want to reformat.. try a Linux live cd.

Reformatting? Im not totally CPU spiffy... How do i reformat?

Reformatting basically resets your hard drive. Everything on your hard drive is erased which means you'll have to reinstall the operating system. You also need to back up all your data before you reformat.

Unless it is the hard drive that has the issue, a simple clean install without a reformat should be good enough.

Woah... Ok, this isnt good. I redid evreything in windows, and fixed a bunch of other problems.... I reformatted and everything, but i still get the BSoD.

Did you format your computer, or just used to basic crappy "System Recovery" that is usually packaged in with computers.

Are you sure you reformatted? There might also be a problem on the CD.
Try a Linux live cd and see if it's hardware issue too. If that's the case, you'll have to go to the manufacturer.

ok, turns out i just used the crappy system recovery CD. ill reformat soon. (gotta backup data files)
