>> Players Will Crash on Start of Game (Minerals Outside of Map Boundary)
--- Don't place stuff outside of the map limits and try to use unit snapping.
>> Not as many traps and/or secrets
--- Add more traps?
>> I guess having preplaced probes in "Cheese" areas is an interesting concept, but places like purple are unbalanced... GREATLY.
--- Oo, Balance Purple...
>> None of the units are renamed...
--- Name the units?
>> It would be wise to add 1 upgrade point to attack, just so the upgrades are visible and the player can make an informed decision.
--- Add 1 attack upgrade point to EVERYTHING belonging to P6.

Armor: 90.50%

This thread is unimpressive and unprofessional. (to put it nicely) Please read this and edit your topic to include more relevant information about the map. Particularily the "Tips and Suggestions" area.

There is a big difference between saying "post well" and "don't post". I am not saying the latter.

First off, we need to know what editor you are using. The most commonly used editor these days is Scmdraft 2. If you don't already have it, you can get it here.

Now, while you're learning you might want to use a more basic editor such as X-tra Editor. It's the most like regular Staredit, and is an excellent starting place, imo (in my opinion). You can get it here.

If you choose to jump start and go straight to Scmdraft 2 (which I suggest if you're a quick learner, otherwise stick with X-tra at first) then you'll want to go to Scenario>>Upgrade Settings. From there you can use the list to choose what upgrades you want to edit. If you select an upgrade you can see its costs (which are only editable if you unselect "Use Default Costs") and it's starting and maximum level. To add an upgrade point to attack, just change the starting level to 1. You may also choose to change some other things, but I'll leave you to figure that out.

If you choose to use X-tra editor, which I'd suggest if you learn at a slower pace, then you'll want to go to Player>>Settings. Then you'll want to select the upgrades tab. From here you have a similar list to the one in Scmdraft 2. You can select which upgrade you want to toy with and change it's starting level and maximum level. To change other settings about the upgrade you'll want to go to Scenario>>Upgrade Settings (as in Scmdraft 2) and toy with it there.

Have fun.

At the very least, I'd upgrade to X-tra editor if I were you. You won't see much serious map making done with Staredit, unless it's for a contest.

In our modern world, StarEdit as an editor is worthless for "Perfect" projects. Colours can't even be put in...

Oh_Man shouted: Hope that makes sense. Also artosiscast just dropped a 1 hour vid he analayses a bunch of its games. The TLDR is the maphack is responsible for a large percentage of its wins because its just hard countering zerg rushes
People keep mentioning it's a bot using reinforced self-learning (or w/e the correct term is) but I wonder, does it still actively learn now that it is deployed? How does that work? Or was it trained on like 100k games playing against itself and now training is finished and its capabilties are now static?

NimoStar -- ban the bot :))

Oh_Man -- Like it doesnt even bother to build a comsat unless it sees a lurker or dt, etc

Oh_Man -- It's EMULATING the behaviour of a control group select and move without having the actual functionality to do that

Oh_Man -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: yeah but it looks like pluto's eAPM is still 6000 based on issuing all those orders
k the APM is inflated because it issues 12 identical orders individually. Its not 12 unique orders
[03:02 am]
Vrael -- which does reduce down to the same tradeoff I mentioned below, aka trading APM for time, but still interesting
[03:01 am]
Vrael -- and while the reaver was reloading it used that time to aggregate enough marine/tank to fend it off
[03:01 am]
Vrael -- like its micro vs one of the in-base reaver drops was pretty insane, basically it made the reaver spend 1 scarab per unit instead of 1 scarab for many workers/units
[02:58 am]
Vrael -- all the stuff I've said below is based on the actual gameplay vs some strong human performers, seems like the bot just has unfair advantages, but its also doing some cool stuff
