So while playing SC my comp crashed, it went from every month to week to day to hour to minutes now. after crashing the bios rings two long beeps (I know this means something but I can't find what) and I have to reboot. So I'm guessing its RAM. I thought I had 512md but I can't open system information so I think I have a memory shortage. Does anybody know of the problem, or something i need to do because this computer has already burned up a gig of RAM and now im getting a little concerned if i buy more it will just burn up or if theres another problem.

please help.

http://www.staredit.net/topic/3158/ Just give your PC a proper checkup and hopefully it will be fine.

Are you sure about that?

You could disconnect everything in your pc, take off all of its pieces, clean them up all, and make sure they are properly connected. Trust me, my uncle had a similar problem, and al he did was disconnect the RAM memory and re-connect it to make sure it was properly connected. And, voila, it worked.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
