So I'm currently using PowerISO v3.8 as my virtual drive manager, but it isn't preforming to my expectations... I think it fails to mount .iso files correctly because I've used an older version and it worked masterfully, but this one I select all the options I want, "1 drive" , "drive f--> mount whatever.iso" and I select mount but it doesn't show in the central display box... But when I try to mount it again in the dropdown it says it is mounting whatever.iso. Could the be a compatibility issue with my new vista and PowerISO or virtual drives together? or is the software malfunctioning?

Oh also, i've tried two separate .iso files, both of which I copied using PowerISO. Could the copy function be corrupt?? Idk i'm just throwing out ideas.

Help please! :help:

oh ps, I check mycomputer after mounting, and it doesn't show the drive with the cd like it did on my xp desktop...

Try a different virtual drive like daemon tools or alcohol %120.

http://www.daemon-tools.cc

If it doesn't work with daemon tools then try this program:

http://cdmage.orconhosting.net.nz/frames.html

I don't know if it works but their claim is such that it repairs or rebuilds corrupted sectors of ISO's.

ok... I dl'ed several of the listed softwares, and none of them preformed... Does this mean PowerISO copied the disks incorrectly?? Is there anyway DAEMON can copy disks? I'm unfamiliar with the interface? lol

Still isn't working... No more help???
I tried changing the virtual drive but that didn't help... I tried daemon tools and alcohol 52%, and either it's not copying right or it isn't reading right... Could someone post a working image file so I can see whether it's the reading or righting that's having issues??

Your files are obvously corrupt, or Vista will not allow them.

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.

If you want to just create the image based off of a disc you already have, use imgburn. Google it.

Ultra ISO is good at making them, and I used to use WinISO.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
