I don't ever recall having this problem on my computer before. There is a black screen with a square box moving around the screen like a screensaver saying the following:

Dell
2: Digital Input
Self Test Feature Check (grey background)
Red (red background)
Green (green back)
Blue (blue back)
White (white back)

I tried shutting off power and restarting but the same screen comes up. There is no mouse on the screen either.

I have a Dell, I believe its a Radeon, several years old but its always been reliable. I've been having to expand the virtual memory many times recently. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!

I also still have connection to my internet modem by my laptop. I have Windows XP.

Try hooking it up to another monitor. I got the same thing on an old Dell monitor that somebody was throwing away, and I just used another monitor in the meantime (it cleared itself up after a few weeks, and I never figured out why).

That sounds like a problem with the monitor.

Well you guys were right, yet again. My cleaning lady must have pushed a button when cleaning the monitor. I clicked some little button and the screen said Analog Input and went back to normal. Thanks a lot guys for the inspiration! Problem solved.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
