Well, I tried to install the nVidia 8800GTS ... with inappropriate power voltage. And I think I may have fried my motherboard in the process.

When I connect my power supply to the motherboard (Via the 20+4 pin connector) the motherboard LED comes on, but the power supply fans and LEDs don't work. After that, I rigged the power supply to work without a motherboard, the lights and fans came on after that. Whenever I connect my power supply to the motherboard the fans/leds won't come on. Could this be because my motherboard is fried?

Is there anyway I can test to see if the problem is my motherboard?

I fixed it. When I unplugged the 12v connector from the motherboard everything worked fine.

Anyone know what I'm supposed to do with the 8 pin 12v connector from my power supply? If I hook it into my motherboard nothing works. But I'm not sure if I'm just supposed to leave it out especially when I'm powering my 8800GTS. It also can be split into two 4 pin connectors.

Apparently the 12v connector was causing my Power supply to shut down because of overpowering it or something.

If you have a motherboard that will run without that connected, it should be fine, as far as I know.

Yup. it would normally work. But as ShadowFlare said, it must support not having the 12V connector attatched. Alternatley, get a new power supply or motherboard.
