Lol, most of this terrain is open source, but you can learn to create your own, my website is the only website that has tutorials on making terrain, so for the basics you might want to go there, I would start on jungle and then move out from there. You'll want to download SCM Draft for terrain work, and if you want to get some already made blends for quick terrain pieces, you can also get my Terrain Compilation. Enjoy :P

Basically, it's get SCMDraft, then mess around with the Terrain pallete or Copy and Paste small segments of terrain (That's what I mainly do...). Just practice at it and it'll become easy. Eventually.

It's not really hard, it's just either time consuming, or not-as-nice-looking terrain pieces.

the best way to learn how to terrain is to find all of the old blended terrain maps available, learn all KNOWN blends first... then from MEMORY, try to duplicate ones you've seen and if you think your blend is almost there, then you can look back and see if your intelligents is enuf to ruffle thru the terrain pallet for endless hours of worthless enjoyment... ha! don't waste as much time as i have thou, sometimes i have nightmares about blending jk, its good making maps out of quality triggers & terrain.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
