I am running out of decent photos on this computer, so I've done something a bit different.


The Place (Subject): A black and white publicity photo of 1940s actress Alexis Smith.
The Time: N/A
Description: I colourised this photograph when I was bored last year and decided to see if I could make old photographs seem modern. You can see the places where I messed it up (top of photograph, hair) but it's not a bad effort. The style I was going for was a film noir poster.

Looking at her and ignoring the transition to background, she looks almost plastic. ;o I wish I knew how to color things like that. >> I was trying to do a similar thing with a picture my friend drew based on me... It didn't work at all. ;o It's the same picture in my signature, but that was me coloring it with a different style & done a while ago (I was trying to make a bigger version that was more clean.)

I like it, nice composition, feels warm but it's a bit underexposed imo.
