FAQs:
  • Tux why did you make the file so large? Because I hate all humanity.
  • Wow Tux! This owns! How did you get to be so awesome? A steady diet of beef and daily beatings.
  • Can I use the map's sounds/triggers/terrain/itself for my map? I dunno. Can you?
  • Tux the game/sounds/music/buttsecks runs too slow. Fix it please. lol!
  • Argh! It's too hard! I can't click fast enough and/or don't know how to use hotkeys and/or can't use a mouse. Halp! lol!
  • Can I have your babies tux? They cost 30 pounds each.
  • This map is awesome. You gonna make more of it? You obviously didn't play it through to the end.
  • This map fucking sucks! YOU MADE ME LISTEN TO THE BUTTSECKS SONG! WHY?! See answer to question #1.
  • Tux you do realize that one's choice of ISP (Comcast or otherwise) is not strictly a factor in the elapsed download time of a map over battle.net from a hosting player, right? Um. Comcast sux lol.
  • Tux I noticed a few prob... HEY BITCH I HAD TO FUCKING LOOK UP GOATSE AND GAY PORN TO MAKE THIS SO YOU'RE GONNA PLAY IT AND YOU'RE GONNA LIEK IT YOU SORRY SACK OF SHIT!
  • Tux the map has... For any other questions or concerns, please redirect them here and I'll address them shortly. Thank you!

^ From the 'official' FAQ. :P

Overview:
This is a defense map. Basically. It plays out a bit simpler than most maps I'm used to making, but clocking at one and a half months in the making, it's not really what I'd call a simple map anymore . Commentary aside, let's just say you'll need to try it out and make up your own mind on it. Muahahaha! :P

To play:
  • Build units at your Starport to fire projectiles. Use projectiles to stop enemy units from reaching the end.
  • Right click with your Starport to aim projectiles (minimap works too).
  • Projectiles cost gas. Gas recharges gradually over time.
  • Build additional Starports with your SCV to increase your gas recharge rate.
  • Build tech buildings and addons to unlock new types of projectiles.
  • Projectile types are as follows:
    • Quick Shot (Wraiths): Small damage against all enemies in a small radius. 1 gas each.
    • Trim Shot (Dropships): Special damage; shaves off the HP of strong enemy units, thus turning them weak. 1 gas each.
    • Power Shot (Science Vessel): Medium damage against all enemies in a medium radius. 3 gas each.
    • Explosive Shot (Battlecruiser): Heavy damage against all enemies n a large radius. 7 gas each.
    • Penetration Shot (Valkyrie): Special damage; indefinitely kills weak enemy units, but halts against strong units. 2 gas each.

Enjoy!

P.S. Free IQ points for whomever correctly identifies the message behind this map.

I found that hacking made this map much easier, as it allowed me to select multiple Starports at once and set their rally points. :P Good concept, but I get the feeling Tux is losing his ability to make serious maps :D

Message behind this map: Don't use Comcast
I thought it was ok, although most of the images I couldn't see, as we killed them too quickly.

You can beat it solo without hacking, by the way.

Sure, this ain't a serious map. I just wanted to have fun with it for a change. ;) But I tried to make sure it is playable.

Has anyone 'beaten' it yet?

I'll see if I can't upload it elsewhere. Might take a while, though...

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
[2026-6-20. : 6:15 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
[2026-6-20. : 3:47 pm]
NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
[2026-6-20. : 3:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
