Who's excited for the Speed Racer movie? Its coming out on IMax too...isn't that awesome?

Well, the producer's supposed to be good (forgot who he was, though. The LotR guy?), but I never liked speed racers. Well, they were the most awesome arcade game ever, but the cartoons were.. horrible. I'll probably watch it. Or not. Depends on the reviews.

I saw some previews of it... and honestly it looks horrible... the CG is not good at all...! i mean i wouldn't mind if it was more like cartoon CG.... but it looks like they tried to make it look like real people CG... And it makes it look bad! I do not personally want to see it!

I think you're thinking about the directors, the Wachowskis. They did the Matrix trilogy, Bound, and V for Vendetta.

When I heard this movie was coming out, I thought it was going to actually exceed people's expectations, but it went way below.

Exactly! Most of their race tracks, or what ever they call them, are all fake. The whole movie doesn't look real at all, except the part with the real people. I doubt I will see it in theaters. I would much rather see 88 min.

Have you seen the original cartoon...? The typecast is TOTALLY American, right down to his hideous rosey cheeks.

This movie's trailers are so bad that it's like being beaten to death with a baby seal. An hour, hour and half, two hour movie of horrible, ugly CGI races against CGI backgrounds that look like someone vomited beef stew on a circus tent.. yeah, I'm definitely gonna see that.

I can't see how anybody looked at this project and said "Oh, a real-life Speed Racer movie? That's going to be fucking great!".
