It looks like a magnet-ish thing to me. Also, have you considered joining the Terrain Ladder :D . You can use screenshots you already have :D .

I'll try my hands at different ships that look different then yours, so i can post em in the terrain ladder, or make a defense map based on it [would be hard to get invisible units on the ground so it looks like it is under attack by units, Nice Job again

That'll be stealing a concept, which is against the rules in the Ladder.

i thought concepts was their idea, not the actual terrain thing, i'm saying designing different ships, not that one, like how people normally take the concept of jungle/badlands cliffs and stuff, and they dont get into the ladder with the rules...

Its a futuristic horseshoe! Those arms on the sides just grab into the hooves. Apparantly, instead of develpoing spacships in the future, they just make mech-horses :P

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
