With the increasing damage 'n' shit? I remember the first 9999 marine map... I was in the 'beta' test, and I thought, "Wow, this sucks, who's going to play this?" :P

... But what if they get 9999 Carrier? :0_o:

The warp ray only has 3 levels of attack, its not like it indefinitely increases in damage as it attacks.

Then we'll just have to mod that won't we.

Wait, do people actually play these, like more than twice in their lives? I always thought those games consisted of noobs who didn't know any better.

The Random 40 is cool. They should get rid of the bad ones though... e.g. the units that can't attack air or ground -.-. It's cat n' mouse without the annoyances, and I've seen the 99999 unit win and lose...

People enjoy them enough that you can typically always find a game of it on battle.net.

With the rise of ne age editors comes greater levels and aspects. I beleive that the current max health in the wrcraft editor ranges in the billions... and then the armor... wow. Image that.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Godzilla maps were awesome. I don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, but the sole purpose of such maps were to gang up on 1 unit. Essentially the unit with the fastest attack and/or greatest mobility would win.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
