So, I decided to start modding and I think I understand modmaster's situation now; you know, how he always ask questions and stuff...

I was following DTBK's tutorial and I'm stuck on the part where you get to use TblPad. The problem now is whenever I run TblPad, I receive an error:

Can't load (or register) custom control: COMDLG32.OCX

I downloaded another copy of TblPad just to be sure if I had all the files needed. I have VB4 and 6 Runtimes installed already.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I think the error returned is enough self-explanatory, see, COMDLG32.OCX is a file that the program needs to run and be fully functionnal, the best choice you have is to find that file on the web, download it and simply put it in TblPad's directory, have fun =))

Stuff like that usually isn't that simple.

If you have one missing file, you'll usually have more.
Look up the file and what it is, it'll probly be part of a runtime or driver or something.

It is indeed that simple.

👻 👾 👽 💪

Google comdlg32.ocx... It means you are just missing the ActiveX (or whatever the hell they call it) file. If you far enough to recieve that error, then you should need nothing more.

And once again, Syphon proves that he is better than all of us.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
