Well, most of you know about the Terrain Ladder, and it has to stop for a while because it's lacking characters, with only 187 characters left in it, I can't continue to post the links to images on the first post. Pretty much what I'm requesting is a character limit increase by say 5,000 - 10,000 so I can continue it. Perhaps this increased limit could be strictly for stickied topics only? Sorry if there is a topic for requests like this.

I agree that there should be a character limit increase on certain things. I think maybe the first post of the topic should get unlimited characters. I don't even understand the point of the character limit, but whatever

Its mostly because mysql has a character limit in the text fields, as well as to prevent potential spammers from making a page unviewable by spamming millions of characters. The character limit could be upped a bit though.

10 seems to be the limit

It's rare that you need to quote more than 10 times. But it is somewhat annoying when you do need to and you hit that limit.

I've recently encountered it many times.

You also reach it easily when you're quoting nested quotes.

IP, use a LONGTEXT, it's not like it's any less efficient...

Actually, what the hell is the point of TINYTEXT and all that? Are they really no more efficient then LONGTEXT?

The character limit was increased to 22,000 and the quote limit is now 20, this topic has served its purpose.
