:payne:

Okay guys, here is an other request from the fabulous payne :
Ruins to High Dirt to Jungle (No Dirt anywhere except on the top of the high dirt :D)
You've guesssed the tileset: JUNGLE!
And a particular thing that is required : Rectangular! (Not isometric)
Well... if ever you can't make it, try to do this, it shall be easier :
Ruins to High Dirt only (isom or rectangular...).

So you're trying to shove a piece of woodenfire's terrain in to the side of a cliff, right?

You might want to add some variation to the cliff before you do that, as well as some hills to explain why a 3d object is being stuck on 2d grass, it looks like a cave entrance but it doesn't have the cliff for it to be situated in. Look back at CD in the way it was used and you can get some inspiration.

Wait, could you explain it a little better? I think I kinda see what you mean but... Could you make a picture? Or a rough draft blend, like, do you want there to be a cliff in between the ruins and high dirt? Stuff like that..

:payne:

The cliff shall be used as the walls since I can't find anything good for that damn Forgotten Tower.
The Wooden's blend have to still look like if was going into the ground.
Try to keep the Ruin floor if possible.

Oh man, I wouldn't have guessed that was what you were going for at all :P Good thing you figured it out yourself.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
