Project Ceres Presents
Outsite the Box

Introduction

This is a puzzle map requiring Starcraft knowledges.

However, it requires new ideas not presented in most other puzzle maps.
It doesn't require you to know quirks regarding units and buildings.

Can you guess how to solve the problem above?

How to Play

You can load a problem by putting in a code into the starport.
If you are playing for the first time, put in WWWW. (Train four wraithes)
Solve a problem to get a code, and you can start from the next problem.

Each problem suggests you to do something.
Do what it wants to solve the problem.

Additional Info
  • This map is for SC:R only. This map relies on some features not available in 1.16.1 or before.
  • This map is for three players. I recommend you to gather in advance three people who'll keep playing. However, if you have a program that lets you launch three instances of SC, you can play alone in LAN mode.
  • This map was intentionally made without using EUDs. If you have map making knowledge, this can work both as a strong hint and a trap.
  • If you are stuck, take a look at the hint.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
