Hi, I'm Jeff Haynes, a long-time RTS enthusiast, Economist, and Mathematician. Aside from my profession, I work a lot in games, and have released a few titles in minor contexts including some house rule sets for RPGs and design dreams for RTS games.

I thought about it today that for my generation probably the most important contribution I had made was one in the D20 genre. My friends and I worked up a system called Threshold which delineated against the traditional Crit system in RPGs. Tons of players hate losing a level 12-16 character to a 1-shot off a 19-20 3d8/4d8. For a while we used a 2x system but it didn't really appeal to us because high health characters never bottomed out.

As far as real literature I dont know any specific contributions ^^;;

Anyway, I'm Jeff, and it is nice to meet you all.

Zoan -- of course it isn't full understanding. You could ask "is the mechanism by which this counterexample blows up the ONLY mechanism possible for an initial configuration to blow up?"
[05:48 pm]
Zoan -- ppl do it all the time in PDEs
[05:47 pm]
Zoan -- Heinermann
Heinermann shouted: it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased
Constructing a counterexample is answering the question: "Is Navier Stokes well posed?" in the negative
[05:44 pm]
NudeRaider -- I only heard about it, didn't any news article, so what did it do then?

Heinermann -- it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased

NudeRaider -- I have no idea tbh. All I know no human was ever able to solve it, but there's at least a few that beat portal ;)

Zoan -- Navier Stokes is not that esoteric I thought
