Description:

It's an Impossible styled map where you can choose the spells of your heroes.

At the beginning of the map, the host can choose from Random Spell Mode (left) or Choose Spell Mode (right).
For the first playthrough it's recommended to select Choose Spell Mode (right).

After entering one of the *19* stages, you can then choose spells or upgrades for your hero.
Units are spells, pickup items are upgrades.
It is importent to note that while spells reset after each stage, upgrades are kept to your hero the entire game.

The critter is your hero. Each player has a different critter.

The comsat station at top left has 4 options:
  • Scanner Sweep: scan
  • Give Up: Vote to give up stage, use when you're stuck
  • Restore HP: Restore HP for your hero. It will not heal the other units.
  • Restore SP/Energy: Restore energy and shields for your hero.

After clearing 5 stages, you can Challenge the Boss. Fight a random one from 4 bosses.
You can also play more stages to stack more upgrades before fighting it.
If you beat the boss, you win the game.

Version updates:

v0.96: Difficulty tweaks. Added archon spawn for stage 5*.
v0.95: Fix Boss 3 unable to launch nuke due to AI broken. Added special units for stages 1*, 4*, 7*.

Other notes:

This map is the sequal to a map called Impossible Spellmaster.
Check out the previous map here.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
