Hello,

As said in the title, I'm UndeadStar, also known as BoomerangAide (was too lazy to create and deal with 2 github accounts).
I played StarCraft a lot in the past, I was one of those that could play the War3TC before it got blasted out of Internet long ago.

And when I came back on Starcraft (especially to see how modding had evolved) I discovered GPTP.
After a few tests, I decided to make my own fork, compatible with Visual Studio 2008 (reason for the name) and Windows XP.
Right now, while the mod I had started look at the insensitive me with puppy dog eyes, I'm utterly ignoring it to try and upgrade my version of GPTP.

The biggest achievement was the infestation hook, but I am working on more.

To finish, I will say that I was on the forum at http://broodwarai.com but since the website is down, wasn't very active, and somebody here also started something with GPTP within this year, I finally decided to join this place.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
