Noob

Hello dedicated Starcraft fans! =D

My name is nagoshi and I'm pretty late in the game here as I have never really heard much about Starcraft until recently. My great boyfriend, A_of-s_t, introduced me to the game and I finally was able to buy it and start playing it. As expected I'm terrible at it, but enjoying it. I have no experience with modding and next to no experience in programming. I think the only thing I really am decent at is drawing, so maybe some fanart can make up for my lack of experience.

Looking forward to learning!

Welcome to SEN, nagoshi. Do you play melee or custom maps (and if the latter, which ones)?

Fanart is always welcome here. I'm of the opinion that drawing is harder than mapping/programming anyway.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
