Unfortunately, as per Moose, if you were trying to ask a specific question here, you really need to be much more specific.

For example, people in the military are american citizens and are legally able to buy guns (for the military). Gun-shop owners etc are citizens and legally able to buy guns (to re-sell).

You're missing (at least) the qualifier "for personal, private use".

So really, I should have voted 'yes', but that's what you get for making people vote before thinking about the situation further. I voted 'no' on the assumption that you included "fully automatic" for a reason.

I think its vague for a pretty obvious reason, lanth. :bleh: The point of this topic is to judge the misinformation being spread on the topic, not to bicker about your 'reasonable' details. I didn't want to lead the responses.

But you won't be able to judge the misinformation, because people are going to be answering a particular way for specific reasons other than "misinformation", such as moose did.

Still Napping

My IQ drops 100 points when I can't google.

I said yes because second amendment & you could buy it via shadowy means (and thus not illegal because 2nd amendment, despite what other laws say).

Just Here For The Pie

Automatics? Semi-Automatics? Those were never legal as far as I have been informed.

Discuss the specifics down below - this is for gut reactions, many of which have originated by terms coined by politicians and the media to push their agendas.

Ok, should have explicitly asked for a 'gut reaction' answer then, to prevent people from giving a (carefully) considered one. Next time, I guess.

I thought fully automatic weapons have been illegal for a while, they even carry a life sentence?

This is me not looking anything up.

They're illegal in NY, I can't speak for anywhere else. If I had to guess, it's probably dependent on state law, like most things.

If it's legal anywhere, I'd assume it'd be the southern states, the area where most stereotypes about Americans stem from.

I remember seeing a video with this guy talking about some loophole in the law of their state that allows to have fully automatic assault rifles. It had something to do with the year/place of manufacture or the model of the gun. So even where there are laws that ban it, there exists at least one loophole. :)

There are many loopholes and weapons are constantly designed to exploit these loopholes. Such as in California there is a law against high capacity magazines. However, there is not a law against how many, so weapons have been made that have multiple magazine wells.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
