I am asking this here because it doesn't fit anywhere else.

How do you counter reavers as Zerg? I totally lost today as zerg vs protoss.

None.

Hello

You should try air units, however, zerg air can be easily countered while still having some reavers and that's because Zerg oftenly loses open battles, yet, in normal games, zerg are capable of reproducing an army much faster than terran and protoss could. Now, zerg counter a 200/200 fight with like a "300/200" fight: zerg loses units and instantly reproduces while terran and protoss can't that fast/easily.

Now, this important factor is not playing a role on Desert Strike and it makes it hard for Zerg to win. Hope that helps.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

short term strategy: Hydras.
long term strategy: Guardians.

With both strategies Ultralisks should help mitigate a lot of damage for ground units. But don't get more than a few.

Which version are you referring to?

Original, revolution, revolution k, ultima, fast n cheap, queen beta, queen beta updated, triple, queen pro, silver, diamond, final, warhead, angel, night, etc

Safest bet would be gaurds, but there are versions where you can use ultras.

Most versions reavers cost a great amount, so keep that in mind you can either pop a gas on them when theyre saving for reavers or grab a couple gaurds as theyre saving.

Why are you playing fixed 2.50, when 2.63 is the latest version?

Also, you might want to refer to the actual map thread to see if this has been discussed before: http://www.staredit.net/topic/11001/

As for the actual strategy, I haven't actually played any SC in months so can't really recall specifics. I also always played Protoss. But I guess ultras to soak up the damage and air to take them out. Kerrigans would probably work quite well early-on due to her HP and small size as well?

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
