Hello

Hi SEN,
I'm thinking of buying new speakers, mainly for listening to music, however I want a surround system for movies and the like. Still, 80% of the usage will be due to music.
Most of the time: metal, but else really bass-intense music, so the subwoofer should be -really- powerfull.
My budget: 300-400 euros.

My current ones: Sony SRS-DB500 ( http://www.sony.de/product/pas-home-multichannel/srs-db500/technische-details#tab ) (german)

300 Watt (2x75 for Satellites, 1x150 for Sub)
50Hz - 500 kHz (sub)
250Hz - 20 kHz (satellite)
impedance: 4 Ohm
Bassreflex

Which of these two are better / fit my needs?
Edifier s550 ( http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-multimedia/s550 )

Total power output: RMS 32W x 5 + 120W x 1
THD + N (testing level): 10%
Signal to noise ratio: ≥85dBA
Frequency response: Satellites: 150Hz - 20kHz | Subwoofer: 20Hz - 120Hz
Distortion: ≤0.5%
Input sensitivity: Satellites: 600mV ± 50mV (PC), 750mV ± 50mV (CD) | Subwoofer: 300mV ± 50mV (PC), 350mV ± 50mV (CD)
Input impedance: 10KΩ
Audio Input Type: 5.1 channel RCA input, Auxiliary input
Subwoofer / bass unit: 10 inch, magnetically shielded, 8Ω
Midrange / high unit: FR/FL/SR/SL: 3½ inch (92mm), magnetically shielded, 8Ω | Center: 3½ inch (92mm), magnetically shielded, 4Ω
Tweeter unit: Ф25mm silk domed tweeter, magnetically shielded, 6Ω
Remote control: Wireless: Mute, volume, Funtion, Speaker adjustment, Input selection, LCD light control, Reset Wired: LCD Display, Full Function EQ adjustment knob, Mute, Input selection, Headphone output
Control panel: Power, Mute, Volume, Speaker adjustment, input selection, LCD display, LCD dimmer, Function reset, Full function EQ control
Dimensions: Subwoofer: 367mm × 397mm × 489mm | Front speaker: 116mm × 203mm × 160mm Center speaker: 316mm × 117mm × 157mm (W×H×D)
Weight: ≈33.50Kg (net) / ≈37.40Kg (gross)

Teufel Concept E400 ( http://www.teufel.de/pc/concept-e-400-5.1-set-p251.html ) (german)

Satellites:
longterm: 60W
shortterm: 100W
sensitivity: 84db
impedance: 4-8 Ohm
150-20000 Hz

Sub:
Diameter: 300mm
Bassreflex
Volume: 63 Liter
lower frequency limit (-3db): 32 Hz
Ouput Max (satelite): 55W
Output Max (sub): 225W
Ouput Max (satelite (sine)): 35W
Output Max (sub (sine)): 150W
Max: 650W

I appreciate your help.
Asus Xonar Soundcard is installed.

Well the second option has a little bit bigger of a subwoofer and a little more RMS power rating. I would be blindly guessing as to the quality of the tweeters, but I'm sure they sound great on both sets. So, I think the second one would have more bass, if that's what you're looking for.

Edit: Also, since the subwoofers are so close in power, you might want to go for the one that has the greater sensitivity. But I can't seem to find the sensitivity listed on the first one.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

I don't understand how the 2nd one is 650W when the first is 280W.

On paper the 2nd one looks much better, but the first has great reviews.

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
