Release 2.06 / Update 2026-02-05 - Download Latest

Feature Changes:
- Support for DatExt modding, cosmonarchy data loading, anims, graphics, unit names, iscripts (using their hi-word mod)
- Add profiles json files & the profiles UI, include live-reload for settings/data files, remove the old settings.ini file
- Add ability to drop-to-open multiple map files at once
- Add ability to customize the unit and sprite trees in the profiles json
- Add ability to treat a regular filesystem folder like a casc or mpq for data loading

Bug/QOL fixes:
- Fix a bug where select profiles window wouldn't refresh after editing profiles
- Fix a bug where clearing paths in profiles resulted in invalid paths instead of removing them
- Fix a bug that allowed exit into the main chkdraft UI without a profile loaded
- Allow tile textures to expand from 128x128 to 256x256 when more megatiles are present via mods
- Log issues with invalid GRPs instead of failing on them, demote some log levels, fix some logger outputs
- Fix overflow related to terrain palette drawing when pasting
- Fix bug where multi-(de)selections from units and sprite properties created multiple actions and lagged
- Prevent sprites from auto-restarting failed iscripts
- Fix issue where zero-sized sections were removed or identified as protection
- Fix a menu identifier overloap
- Better logging in the event of a crash
- Fix extract and delete sound buttons being disabled when they shouldn't be
- Fix delete sound not removing all the references to the sound in every case

Code changes:
- Clang can now be used on linux to compile the map_gfx_utils project and generate pictures of maps
- Now relies on a stable release of nf hist; code refactored to use said version
- Replaced magic numbers with constants, and constants with variables where appropriate in order to support mods
- Use loaded unit display names (which just copies defaults if unmodded) instead of using the default display names directly
