OK so Just Cause 2 came out in 2010, but similiar to Day Z some people have made an epic mod that enables multiplayer, basically allowing matches with over 1800+ people in one server!!!! With the massive open world terrain, vehicles + grappling hook - it looks freakin epic.

Right now it is selling on steam for FIVE DOLLARS. This offer is about to expire in less then 24 hours, so get over there and buy it!!

The Just Cause Multiplayer is still in beta and is not public release last time I checked

Please keep this updated, because I'm going back on Just Cause once the Multiplayer mod goes online... huge fun will ensue :D

EDIT: But yes, the game is WELL worth your money.
Once you're done with the game proper, go and get yourself the "BoloPatch" which allows Multiple, Indestructable Grapping hooks. U know, just so those pesky civilians won't detach when you try to take them for a flight attached to your jet fighter...

OK here are some videos of me in action.



In this last video I exploited a 'hack' through the "Bolopatch" which basically allows you to cheat by giving you multiple, unbreakable tethers. I was lolling myself hard until I found out later that nothing I actually did was registered on the other player's screens, only on my screen. :-( Still funny to watch though.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
