For those who want to know, to change a race name, use winmpq to open "BROODAT" (or STARDAT for SC nilla) extract the network.tbl file, open with tblpad, edit the names for Zerg Protoss and Terran accordingly, save, then add back to brood dat. Then either use MPQ draft to make it itself a standalone mod or add the mpq file to a FG patch when prompted to do so (happens right after saving)

Lord of the Locker Room

iirc it's network.tbl. Get it from patch_rt.mpq with a local offset of 0.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

thanks ill try that

Edit: I found the file and made the proper changes, however I cannot find the "slot" for the custom file for selecting which file to use in FG or DatEdit. If anyone knows how to use the file (I currently have it saved in my rez file, next to my stat_txt.tbl file) I appreciate the time people take to answer my questions (especially because I know they probably sound uber nooby)

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
