Just curious if anyone was also following this game. I played the Phantasy Star Universe version for xbox 360 but this new game is coming out soon. Currently its just slated for Japan and the open beta starts tomorow i believe. Though, thats how most of the other versions came out and came West soon after.

The game is a Free 2 Play model with in-game cash shops obviously, and is for the computer / PS Vita / Smartphones. They will be all on the same server and can play together.

PSO episodes 1 & 2 were the shit. I also played the shit out of them.

By the looks of it, the art direction took a bit of a different turn, but I'll have to see how the beta looks to see if I actually play it.

So far it looks pretty good, but i never really like how companies do the F2P model. It always wind up being pay for power or some shit, or they'll make you pay for all of the inital character customization, which was one of the best points of the first two games. I'd hate to see them change it but unfortunately i can see it happening.

So yeah, I've been following it. Still not sure about it though.

I have been following a lot of the posts from the creator and he said that you are able to do everything in game with out paying at all. The cash shops will be for more storage capacity, ability to trade items, things like that. You will also be able to buy certain cloths and accessories and weapons. He made it clear that the weapons and armor being purchased through the cash shops will not make a large gap between power which i was very happy to hear.

My favorite add from any other Phantasy Star Game is the ability to JUMP. Its finally here haha and check out some of the videos posted already. If you played the original PSO games, you will absolutly love this

It had like an open beta for two days iirc the other day for the jap version. That or it just went open beta in the jap version. I just know is that Us players were trying the game out by playing the jap version. I also played the original phantasy star 1+2 for game cube and PC. You can download the PC version and play online to this day on a custom server. Enough players to party with consistently. Pretty cool stuff.

PSO Ep 1&2 were fucking awesome. PSU was shit, imo. I hope this is good. :3

I have been playing some Ep 1&2 recently with some friends to get back into the madness. Its driving us nuts waiting for the game lol

Just letting people know PSO2 Was announced to be released internationally in early 2013!!!

I never liked Phantasy Star Universe nearly as much as I did Episode 1&2. I'm pretty sure there are still private servers that let you join with Episode 1&2.

If you haven't played Episode 1&2 I suggest playing it. I got it for the Gamecube (used) after the official servers went offline. It was one of the games I went back to and I have to say that Single Player alone is worth it. You can follow the main story, take on several offline quests, or play co-op locally. (I believe the private servers have their own unique online quests as well.)

One of the highlights of Episode 1&2 was that the character you created and played as was the main character. Anyway, it had more content than PSU.
