My Windows XP SP3 really wants to install Security Update for the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Now, this is great; I love when Windows wants to install security updates. There's just one problem: It's "installed" this particular update about 50 times. It installs it and then tells me that there's a new update, which is this same update that it just "installed".

I'm not sure what to do, exactly. I've tried running the Microsoft Fix-It tool... it told me there was a problem with Windows Update and that it fixed it, but it lied about the fixing it part. Windows still really wants to pretend to install this update. The update was released on December 29, 2011, so I've been having this problem since.

None.

>be faceless void >mfw I have no face

Have you followed http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-windows_update/microsoft-net-framework-35-sp1-and-net-framework/7029aad6-96a4-4ff4-a672-ed9b4e503b83

Either of the first two answers should work.

Red classic.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
