The 1 trigger puzzle map

I N T R O D U C T I O N
I started a map for a 1-hour contest a bunch of months ago. I was rusty at mapping and reckoned that I'd have a better chance of finishing if I made a map with no triggers. Ended up not finishing in time, but kept working on it because it was pretty cool. I made about half of it before going on a long hiatus, but it's done now. My testers have enjoyed it, so maybe you folks will as well.

S Y N O P S I S
Players: 1 (+3 observer slots)
Tileset: Jungle
Genre: Puzzle

Use the plethora of game mechanics related to Nydus Canals to unite your "Beacon Seeker" with the beacon at the end of the labyrinthine passage.

With only 1 functional trigger, it's not the most complicated thing in the world.

I don't see how this map hasn't gotten more attention. It's simply amazing, and it's easily one of my favorite SC maps.

Awesome map. On a scale of 1 to Five Triggers its an Astro Gears.

If you haven't beaten it yet, I strongly suggest you do so.

Now that I know where Minibooster is I have lurker and lurker is really difficult to push over hurdles... such a frustrating mechanic.

Ok after what must have been half an hour of constant burrowing-unburrowing I have finished this map.

Never touching it again!!!

One thing I do want to know though is how you gave all those burrowed Infested Terrans without the use of triggers?

@sacrieur: Thanks! I appreciate people who appreciate good level design.

@oh_man: There was an easier way, probably several easier ways. There's no reason to ever have to boost the lurker. Congrats though. As for the giving of the ITs, all units that belong to a player are given to you if you rescue a hatchery/cc/nexus belonging to that player.

@Rye123: the booster is used to do a trick called burrow hopping. To do this, you must first burrow the booster beside an obstacle (such as the bough or hurdles later on). Next, you move the unit that you want to "hop" directly on top of the burrowed unit. Finally, you unburrow the booster. As soon as you unburrow, select the hopping unit and right click furiously on the other side of the bough (hotkeys make this task a lot easier). Because 2 ground units cannot exist in the same space, the units will try to separate. During this state, the units will be able to pass through other units, so the "hopping" unit can walk through the obstacle. It's easier than this paragraph of text makes it sound, but you may need to practice it a bit.

:payne:

I'm stuck with my Booster behind the Hurdle, and my Slim and Hydralisk both in that spot where there is an Infested Command Center (I can't reach that CC, though, I'm at the bottom of the Nydus Line there).

Spoiler (select the following invisible text): I've found out you can enter both units at once into a nydus and it displaces the Hydralisk to the right if it's a narrow exit. Am I supposed to try to use that my advantage at some point? I tried to make the Zergling appear to the right, but it looks like it's only working on the Hydralisk.

You're going to need to restart. Good idea though...

Damn you! :massimo:
Also, how do we use the Save Points? I killed one and it did nothing.

When you reach one, it means it might be a good time to save your game.

You missed the Minibooster Payne, I think nearly everyone misses it.

People keep mentioning it's a bot using reinforced self-learning (or w/e the correct term is) but I wonder, does it still actively learn now that it is deployed? How does that work? Or was it trained on like 100k games playing against itself and now training is finished and its capabilties are now static?

k the APM is inflated because it issues 12 identical orders individually. Its not 12 unique orders
