Using more processes when your computer boots up? I was sniffing around msconfig under the boot tab and clicked advanced options. I have a quad core processor and if I were to set the number of processors my computer uses to boot to all 4, I noticed in my task manager that my computer uses around 1gb of memory while if I were to leave it at default settings, my computer uses around 1.20gb memory. While that may not seem a big jump, I simply would like my computer to use less memory when it's idle and all. So does using more processors to boot with do anything bad?

None.

I recall reading about that setting, that it only limits the number of processors used during boot. By default Windows uses all of them.

None.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

It's a debug option. When there's no problems you should always use all cores.

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface

NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
