You might have either played or heard about gunbound one way or another, as it's one of the older free Korean MMOs out there. Well, seeing as Softnyx got progressively worse and worse with their "cash shop" mentality, some folks took it upon themselves to bring back the "classic" gunbound that made the game so popular to begin with.
Now, you're probably thinking this is a private server, which it is. However, Gunbound is a free game anyway, so no harm done.
If you don't remember what Gunbound was like, or want to find out, here's a few random gameplays video I found on youtube:
Just a few things I'd like to note, though: * Not everyone on the server speaks English, since it is, after all, an international server. My rough guess is that about 40% of the people on the server speak English in some capacity. That being said, a game like Gunbound doesn't need a lot of chat interaction anyhow.
* As with most competitive games, people are picky about newbies, so practice helps.
* If you decide to register, post your in-game name (NOT login name) in this topic! I'll gladly offer whatever help I can to whoever asks, and I'm sure most other people would be willing to do some private games too.

To be honest, I very much disliked GunBound when it first came out because the vehicles and items at higher levels (and paid for) crushed you way too easily, not to mention people randoming to get a dragon or something. If this game eliminates that, I would definitely take the game up again.

Avatars are off in the private server, meaning that items you get have no effect except appearance. Rank has no effect as well, and as already mentioned, this server's client is from before Softnyx turned greedy, so purchased items (even ones purchased with real money) also have no effect.
And to top that off, all mobiles are available to you right from the start, except the random-exclusive Knight and Dragon. And though I'm inclined to agree with you that they're overpowered, you have a 2/17 chance of getting them, so meh.
Fuck gunbound. Its a crappy game and doesnt deserve any more love. They removed a good game from the site it was hosted on at the time (IJJI) for this to make more money.

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.

I agree with you fully, however this is why this topic is about a private server rather than the official client. Reason being, the private server uses a much older client from before IJJI was taken over by Softnyx, hence there are no benefits to paying real money and "free" players are on equal ground with "paid" players.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
