wth is starcraft

Since this has turned into "help me buy a laptop" forum, I thought I might jump on the bandwagon. xD Also, I hope you are nostalgia-ing :P

Does anyone remember the Alphasmart? They were these keyboards with small screens that you typed on. That's all they did. You transferred your stuff later to a mac so that it could be printed. Pretty old school. But, I really want something like that, just a portable word processor, but not as dorky looking. I don't even care about interwebs access. The main reasons why are because first I'm kinda cheap about these things, and secondly because my laptop is too wide to be comfortable to carry around with me everywhere I go. Am I doomed to a netbook or do you guys know of something that fits the bill?

Seriously. a Word Processor.

Relatively ancient and inactive

It's basically a weaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak netbook. Not sure what you want exists. You can apparently run Windows CE on it, or you can try installing a Linux distribution. A weaaaaak laptop like that with some Linux distribution will probably do fairly well.

Ahhh, the alphasmart. It was the first thing I ever hacked - the master password was a 5-character string, but guess how few 5-letter words that have to do with school there are in the English language. I think I was in second grade? Good times :P

Alright, I think I agree...the only thing I can do is get a weak netbook. I wish other people wanted it as much as I did.

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
