Actually I came up with an awesome plot. About twenty-somethings that still play with toys.
Sounds more like a setting than a plot, but that sounds cool.

I can understand that if you do this for a living, you will have to invest some money into the project (And hopefully get some back :bleh:...) but I guess that if I'm doing a movie based on a script made in 30 days, the tools I already have should be able to do the job.

I wonder if I'm ready to find out how good it can be to work on a project like this. What kind of quality I can get out of it? Will I learn a lesson or two in the process?

I probably won't have enough time this year, but I'm looking forward to do it for next year. (Meanwhile, I can probably start to know the tools better and make a couple experimental tests.)

I think I'm back to the point where I have a hard writing a coherent post...
Like Kame said, the point of the ScriptFrenzy is to write and meet a deadline. Unless you're a hired gun for some major studio, you'll rarely write a script with the quality of the final project in mind. Just write something, and figure out the production of it after it is completed. :)

Ya, most situations deal with these toys. Somehow. Hehe.

I order you to forgive yourself!

For those interested:
Quote from Sandra

Hi Script Frenzy Wordsmith!

I’m Sandra Salas, the Script Frenzy Program Director. In just a few days, the month of April will be upon us. Which means our Frenzied Scriptwriting Trek is almost here! I’m so excited to be doing the Frenzy with you I can hardly sit still. I’ve almost fallen out of my chair eight times in the past hour because I’m bouncing around like a popcorn kernel whirling around in a popper.

On April 1 we will embark on the Mount Everest of scriptwriting treks and since I’m a newbie to the Script Frenzy challenge, I’ve decided to break down this four week stretch of awesomeness into small bite-size pieces.

Today: Nominate your favorite script for 30 Posters, 30 Days. We’ve lined up 30 incredible designers who will take on the challenge of turning your scripts into posters. If you’d like to nominate a script, just fill out this nomination form.

Tomorrow: Go to the Writer's Resources corner, where you can read Cameos and gather writing tips from the experts. Check out the writing software section to learn more about the types of scriptwriting software available.

Hours before the Frenzy: Set your time zone! You'll find the time zone drop-down menu in your user profile under “Edit Account Settings.” Our page count validator uses your time zone to know when your “Fade In” and “Fade Out” begins and ends, so it’s important to make sure you do this step, so you can be crowned a winner by April 30.

Trek overview:

April 1/Page 3.33: Start writing! I’ll stop by your inbox with a pep talk, and we’ll type those pages together! Login to your profile, click on “Edit Writer Info” and do your first page count by uploading a PDF into the “Page Count Validator,” or on the honor system by manually typing in the your page number into the page count block. You might want to add excerpts of your script to your profile, and share it with the world.

April 3/Page 9.99: It’s the first Script Frenzy weekend! Use this time to get ahead on your page-count.

April 8/Page 26.66: Week one is behind you! Realize you've written 26.66 more pages! Hug someone you love! Give her a high five! OK, now roll up your sleeves; the second weekend of April is here! If you’ve fallen behind, use this time to catch up. A new pep talk email will arrive just in time to give you the inspiration you need to keep on writing.

April 10/Page 33.33: Fantastic! You’ve written a third of your script! Hooray! (I’m treating myself to tart frozen yogurt topped with strawberries and mochi.)

April 15/Page 50: Hate your characters? Questioning why you decided to write a script in April? Just know you are exactly where you’re supposed to be. Together we have written 50 pages, and we’re halfway there! Back up your script, and then celebrate! With 50 more pages to go, it’s time to rekindle the fire. Find a write-in if you haven’t already. Get to your local midway party to meet people writing in your area.

April 17/Page 56.66: Keep your head up, and stand proud! You’ve been writing for 17 days straight! You are a superstar!

April 19/ Page 63.32: It’s Script Frenzy Donation Day, and you have written 63.32 pages. Doesn’t it feel good to have made it this far? Share the exhilaration and make a donation. If everyone donated just $10 we’d pay all expenses for Script Frenzy, and the Young Writers Program.

April 22/Page 73.33: It’s Municipal Liaison Appreciation Day! Municipal Liaisons (MLs) are local volunteers who help organize Script Frenzy groups in their hometowns. They set up meet-ups, write-ins, kick off and wrap parties, and other events during April. If you've attended an ML-run event then you know how awesome our MLs are! They’ve been phenomenal in guiding you through the Frenzy so take a moment and show them how much you care! It’s their day to shine!

April 25/Page 83.33: Winning is activated! All around the website, progress bars will fill up, and winner certificates are claimed (and by claimed, we mean printed at home). You have from now until the end of the month to upload a version of your script to the page count validator for your official count.

April 28/Page 93.32: Don’t fret if you are behind. There’s still time to catch up because it’s the last weekend of Script Frenzy! Stock the refrigerator or order out! Pick up your favorite coffee, sweet treats, protein bars, etc. Create a playlist of songs you want in your film. Jam the tunes, and get to writing!

April 30/Page 100: It’s the last day! Be sure to run your final page count before midnight, and then jump for joy! You’re a winner! Spend time with the people you’ve neglected in April. Get a massage, treat yourself to a nice dinner, or attend a local Script Frenzy wrap party in early May. You’ve earned it!

I'll stop by your inboxes once a week with a pep talk, and experts will be filling your heads with advice along the way. Remember to please add me to your address list! headquarters@scriptfrenzy.org

Get ready to have a blast!

Still whirling like a cyclone kernel just ready to pop,

Sandra

I got an idea, we should make a collection of short stories. The book could be called "Jumble".

(It can be short stories or anything else I guess.)

Apr 30 2011, 2:25 pm LoveLess Post #36

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

...There are script writing programs? o.0 What does it do, color the text and have bookmarks?

But I didn't know things like these existed... I have a few sci-fi ideas, but I'm only good at expanding around an idea and making it from, "Robots fighting with impending world crisis" to:
Quote
As the years pass, the countries that our world once knew slowly began to fade. People didn't grow much closer, but the petty ties that they held on to with their land faded. Physical money was soon overshadowed by a means of using one's retina as a Credit Card and purchasing everything electronically. Money has been globally renamed Credit and is handled in the same terms as bytes of memory. The world's technology grew in the technical sense, but the resources we were trying to run them off were quickly depleting and alternatives have not been found. On or around the year 2841, a man by the name of Robert Hughes discovered a resource that was all around the planet, buried in the crust of Earth. Taking the dirt and putting it inside a specialized compression chamber, this energy is compacted and sucked into a special container. When this container is spun, it becomes a brilliant orb that is cold to the touch and harnesses pure, clean and most importantly, limitless energy. Hughes called it Flux, believing that it was created over the years from phenomena that the light from all around the universe passing through specific space particles, into the earth and making way for this non-renewable, yet infinite resource. It was found that the faster Flux is rotating, the more energy it produces each second, but it becomes unstable and there is no way to stop a spinning Flux core.

Decades had passed since the discovery of Flux and technology was no longer hindered by a source of power, leading to the creation of cities in the sky, upheld by Float Generators. Now having escaped the pollute world that they had created over a millennium, humanity began to focus on the appearance of their cities and even designing them differently for unique feels, developing a strong desire of travel amongst the world. However, this life of luxury and excitement in the skies brought a great divide amongst the white and blue collar jobs in the communities. Those who worked in businesses went to the skies, while the miners and the back-breakers stayed ground side on Mining Platforms. These platforms, or better known as Plates, have several drills that serve as pillars that serve as support beams and mining tools. The cities became so covered with the filth and smoke that was left behind as the coal plants burnt down and the riots had erupted during what became known as the Great Divide, where people took to the newly built Sky Cities and the remaining some 80% of the world stayed to work on the Plates. The life aboard one of these immense industrial cities is cruel, the shaking that occurs when the drills reach a dense mass of Earth and are the equivalence of the most severe quakes created by the grinding tectonic plates around the world.

However, the need for something to maneuver the growing hazards of mining Flux around drills and the random debris that was generated from the odd work. What were created were Mechanical Frames, several stories of electronics and metal that allowed for a very versatile vehicle to quickly manage the area around the drills. This invention grew much attention however, as the workers on the Plates from all around the world began using them in arranged fights for money. The authorities aboard the mining platforms could not handle the fights as weapons began to be introduced, so the creation of Mechanical Frames in the Sky Cities began and were released to the Plates to preserve order. At first, the streets were a riot, there were times when up to ten Frames would be fighting one of these Sky-Made Mechanical Frames, that were to become called Judges and drive it away. However, two more would come to take it's stead. It was a losing battle, but it sparked into the constant conflict that exists today.

The wars of the now, year 3013, exist all over the planet between Plate Cities in the barren wastelands that the world has become as a result of harvesting Flux. Even arranged Arena Matches that are fully legalized, have grown very popular on the Plates and even those in the Sky Cities have taken an interest. Tournaments have even been held where Mechanical Frames are pitted amongst each other in elimination matches up until the final rounds, where they are reverted to one on ones. Death Wavers prior to entry are mandatory, but ejection systems were quickly developed as the needs for them rose exponentially. The third coming Typhoon Tournament is quickly approaching, advertised as the largest event of the millennium. There is no jest in this statement, as tens of thousands of entries have been produced for the tournament, as the prize is 800-Tera Credits and a Sky City built for them to become the sole owner and Mayor of, having sole responsibility of it and the people that live aboard it. This is an appealing offer for anyone, whether it's glory, money or a place for anyone they have ever known to dwell aboard.

There will be a total of Four Sets of different rounds. There is a different time period in which you will be able to make changes/repairs for each set. First set of elimination rounds, are going to be called Knockout. It will consist of twenty participants each round, be one of the last three remaining to survive to the next round of Knockout, for a total of two for every participant. Two weeks between each participant's rounds are given for repairs. The second set, is Team Knockout. You are pitted with a partner against three other teams. You and/or your partner must be the last one(s) standing to win. There are three Team Knockouts, with a week between each for repairs. The third set, is Team Objective. A team of eight, collected from the teams of Team Knockout or the remnants of previous teams, are collected together. Should you lose any member of your team, they will be filled with the remnants of other teams. There is only one round of this and anyone who loses, is eliminated regardless. The last and final set, is Elimination. These are one on one fights of the remaining contestants after Team Objective is completed. The last contestant after all of Elimination rounds, wins. You are given anywhere between one day to two weeks for repairs between rounds.

The three largest suppliers of Mechanical Frames and their parts, would be Quarry, Typhoon and Mercury. Quarry is focused on structural durability and mass production. They are the largest company in terms of personnel and factories, making their surplus the largest. Most of the Frames on Plates are Quarry-made or most of the world's parts, their motto being that everything they create is made to last. Typhoon is your typical-all rounders, with more than enough people to keep the company in the sights of those who want a Frame made to get the job done well. Everything they make has to meet a high physical appearance requirement, as they are the poster child in Cradles and looked at with respect. This company is responsible for the Judges as well, being the ones in charge of the constant maintenance. This is leaving Mercury who are focused on speed and ranged weaponry, having the most advanced tech of the three, not to mention the most expensive. They make most of their money from after-market parts and equipment, along with the prototypes they discard for not meeting their standards.

Awful rumors have been spreading about the true nature of Flux, though nobody dare repeats the words unless they themselves believe it. There is just no way it could be true. The underground terrorist group that has spread the rumors and are said to have caused the disabling of three Mining Platforms, called Deep, have entered the tournament to bring world-wide attention to their cause. The Hughes company, who hold a monopoly on the world, are signing contracts left and right to eliminate Deep from the Tournament being hosted by the largest company on their pay role, Typhoon.

...It is said that Flux is the very energy that allows our planet to keep spinning and moving through space. It's momentum if you will, this was proven after comparing the length of a standard day over a ten year period. It was getting noticeably longer, on paper anyway. This information is to kill for, so very little, not even a dozen or so, people that are breathing, know about this in the entire world. Those who fight for the world and are hoping to overthrow the Hughes Company and the Mining operations all over the world, in attempts to keep the world moving. These activists, are Deep. Obviously, the Hughes Company believe it is unrelated and want the idea of it being possible silenced, as it has the possibility of ruining their customer base.

I mean, that was just for a Role Play a friend was doing and asked for a full length setting. All he gave me was, "You pilot robots, the poor and not poor are greatly separated and the world is ending."

Anyway, if someone would seriously like to work a script I'd love to help flesh it out from a simple skeleton. It's a lot of fun.

This may be what you mean? It's good for organizing ideas, storyboards. It's a one stop for media pre-production. And it's open source!
