Now, these settings will work on the laptop in your house with your Wifi. If she takes the laptop anywhere else (cafe, university, friend's house, whatever) she would need to set it to automatically discover IP address via DHCP again, or she won't be able to use the wifi there. If she never does this, or doesn't plan to, then you don't have any problems.
But if she does, then you should investigate fixing this issue properly (like why it can't access the DHCP server on your router) so that you can use "automatically obtain IP address" at home AND wherever else she uses it, and so doesn't have to poke around with changing the configuration all the time.
