Your 2v2 Strategy?

What strategies do you do with your friends in 2v2?

MY STRAT: With my Terran friend I usually open a 15hatch while he opens a 4raxx delayed expansion. I quickly tech to mutas, he pumps spare gas to me then techs to tank marine himself. I put pressure on them and force them to make anti air, then after significant stalling and wreaking havoc on the two of them we set up a contain and expand like crazy. Any push made is usually destroyed by the contain and if not is punished by running my mutas into their base then catching up with the usually slow army. Also I send minerals periodically to my teammate because he can put better use to them than I can.

This strat loses only rarely and only because of mistakes made on one of our parts.

So, Starlantis.nerg, what strategies do you use with your friends?

None.

15 hatch on 2v2 = gg on anything above bronze.

My pner techs to MM ball+drops, while I 12 pool. Loses to roach+rine ;[

It's a strat we were just trying, I usually pool first at 14 and grab an expo relatively quickly following up with mutas. The only reason it really worked was because the past 4 games or so had been passive early game in place of the standard ass 1 base push.

Now that's good.

Also, the god damn matchmaking system is broken in 2v2, we've played nothing but Plats and Diamonds the past 15 games or so, we've won most of them (around 3/4). Y U NO MOVE OUT OF GOLD?

PZ, partner goes speedlings or fast roach and double ovie scouts on high ground, I go 5gate with high ground zealot warp-ins. If they don't see the proxy pylons before you warp, or if your ally is successful in protecting them with their speedlings, you win. There was a thread about it on TL. :P

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[04:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
