I installed starcraft on my SCII Collector's Edition USB, and I'm looking to patch it up to 1.16.1 for better gameplay or whatever, just need to patch it. Every time I run it and download the update, it tells me that it can't find broodat.mpq, but it's the installer that was on the USB, so it shouldn't need to find it because it's on the USB. Can anyone help me patch this so that I could hopefully play it online from my USB?

None.

Just Here For The Pie

Have you considered transferring it to a computer to update, and then move it back to the flash drive once patched?

None.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Is broodat.mpq on the USB in the starcraft folder? If it is not, then put it there. If your question was about how to play the game without the cd, follow there steps:
Quote
- If you own only StarCraft, copy "INSTALL.EXE" from the StarCraft CD to your StarCraft folder and rename it to "StarCraft.mpq".

- If you own StarCraft: Brood War, copy "INSTALL.EXE" from the StarCraft: Brood War CD to your StarCraft folder and rename it to "BroodWar.mpq". If you wish to play the StarCraft original missions then please copy and rename the install file from the original StarCraft CD as well, as listed directly above.

Oh_Man -- No APM in chess. Computer just outthinks the human by seeing more moves ahead and more permutations

Oh_Man -- U reckon? Kasparov waa defeated by computer decades ago

NimoStar -- If its any consolation, the human brain would still mop the floor with this bot if it wasn't limited by the mechanical interface
[05:34 pm]
NimoStar -- Well. The bot didn't come up with any new strategy. It just has superhuman micro. Hard to beat that. I reckon even the simplest dedicated chess engines are unbeatable for humans now.

Oh_Man shouted: NudeRaider did u watch the entire video? it's not one game. it's currently dominating the ladder at number 1 position. do ur research first!
Oops, caught me there, no I haven't. :( I was imagining how the game went. Sorry for that. Watching it now. brb

NimoStar shouted: They were not "Unprepared" that was their fifth loss in a row against the bot. The other replays are also available
that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
